Saxony Coordinates Special Christmas Program for Families at Alternatives Inc. of Madison County

FISHERS, Ind. — January 2, 2014 — Residents at Alternatives Inc. felt the holiday spirit on December 19 during a special early Christmas program. The holiday celebration was hosted at the shelter as part of a month long toy drive, sponsored by Saxony.

Those that attended were serenaded by members of some of Indy’s best local musicians (Flynnville Train, The Bishops and Blonde Sonja) and enjoyed holiday refreshments. Santa Claus made a special early appearance to sing with the carolers and distribute gifts to the women and children currently residing at the shelter and participating in Alternatives’ outreach program.

This is the fourth year Saxony has hosted the Holiday Toy Drive. Around $2000 in new unwrapped toys and monetary gifts were collected at a series of concerts in cooperation with Blonde Entertainment, which manages the participating bands. This year’s Holiday Toy Drive included performances by Zanna-doo, Toy Factory, Living Proof, The Bishops, My Yellow Rickshaw and Stella Luna & The Satellites. Venues included Moon Dog Tavern, The Ale Emporium, Stacked Pickle of Fishers, Casler’s Kitchen and Bar, Main Event on 96th Street and That Place Bar & Grill.
