National Citizen Survey Results Show Overwhelming Satisfaction for Quality of Life
Fishers Public Safety and Parks & Recreation departments rated above National Benchmark
FISHERS, Ind. (October 30) - The Town of Fishers announced today the results of the 2012 National Citizen Survey - a statistically valid survey of resident opinions about community and services provided by local government. The results showed an overwhelming approval for life in Fishers, Fishers' reputation, and most residents rated the overall direction of the town as "good" or "excellent".
The National Citizen - provides focused and significant qualitative feedback and analysis that helps local decision makers refine and improve service delivery.
"Most residents experienced a good quality of life in the Town of Fishers and believed the Town was a good place to live. The overall quality of life in the Town of Fishers was rated as 'excellent' or 'good' by 95 percent of respondents. Almost all reported they plan on staying in the Town of Fishers for the next five years," the survey highlighted.
"We are pleased to hear the overwhelming approval from residents and thank them for their participation in the 2012 National Citizen Survey," said Fishers Town Council Member Pete Peterson. "This reputable survey gives us the feedback we need to continue providing the highest level of service to Fishers residents."
The survey was mailed to 1,200 random households within the Town of Fishers boundaries and 324 completed surveys were received; a statistically sound number of respondents. The survey is conducted every three years.
A breakdown of the results:

95 percent rated the overall quality of life in Fishers as "excellent" or "good"

97 percent rated Fishers as an "excellent" or "good" place to raise children

94 percent rated police services as "excellent" or "good"

94 percent rated the cleanliness of Fishers as "excellent" or "good"
