14 Day Closure of 116th Street Loop Ramp To Northbound I-69 and SR 37 Scheduled for October 15

Date of Record: October 11, 2012

FISHERS, Ind. - Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors have scheduled the expected 14-day closure of the 116th Street loop ramp to northbound I-69 and State Road 37.

Milestone Contractors, the state's contractor for the $18 million interchange improvement project, plans to close the looping northbound entrance ramp from 116th Street for up to 14 days beginning Monday, October 15 at 12:01 a.m.

Motorists will not be restricted from exiting northbound I-69 to 116th Street or State Road 37.  The official signed detour for the ramp closure will follow I-69 south to the 96th Street interchange (Exit 203) and return to I-69 northbound.  Sometime after the ramp reopens, access from 116th Street to northbound I-69 is expected to be restricted for up to 60 additional days.

Construction on the northbound side of the interchange started this spring.  I-69 is currently restricted to two lanes north of Exit 205 as a new two-lane flyover ramp to State Road 37 is constructed.  Milestone is expected to complete the northbound improvements this year and finish southbound work by the end of 2013.
