Outdoor Burn Ban Lifted

Outdoor Burn Ban Lifted

Date of Record: August 13, 2012

The ban on outdoor fires, including personal fireworks, has been lifted for Fishers and Hamilton County, effective immediately.

Hamilton County commissioners and fire chiefs met on Monday, August 13, agreeing that conditions have improved enough to cancel the ban.

Residents and businesses can resume the use of recreational fires and personal fireworks, as long as they are done safely and in accordance with state laws and local ordinances.

Professional fireworks displays that were postponed because of the burn ban will be handled on a case by case basis as they are rescheduled. Professional fireworks displays require the approval of the local fire chief, even during normal conditions.
