Town of Fishers to Request Bids for Town-Wide Trash Contract

FISHERS, Ind. - The Town of Fishers is issuing a bid today for town-wide waste and recycling services. The bids will give the town an opportunity to evaluate possible cost-saving for residents in Fishers. The possible town-wide trash contract would grant waste and recycling service rights to a single company for a period of three to five years.

"At this time, the purpose of the bid is simply to explore whether a town-wide contract would yield rates low enough to benefit residents," said Fishers Town Manager Scott Fadness. "Our motivation is simply to find a way to reduce costs for residents and protect town roads from wear and tear."

In addition to the bid, the town is asking residents to complete a survey to gather information about their current service and rates. The town will use the information to better understand the range of rates being paid across the community and consider the benefits of a possible town-wide service.

The survey will be available until March 12 and the results will be kept confidential.
