Helmer Selects Noblesville/Saxony for New Headquarters

March 2, 2005

NOBLESVILLE - Helmer, Inc. announced today that it will relocate its headquarters to Saxony Corporate Campus, located within the Noblesville Corporate Campus. This major research and advanced manufacturing facility will initially consist of 73,000 square feet, with future expansion capacity for twice the space. Helmer is a manufacturer and worldwide distributor of products for the storage and processing of blood components and biological materials in the life sciences industry.  Currently employing 98 people in Indiana, Helmer has been operating in its present Noblesville facility since 1987.  After three expansions the need for continued space led the co-founder and President, David Helmer, to look for a location that provides for further growth.

“We plan to hire an additional 65 people over the next three years in engineering, customer service and manufacturing.  Our present location does not have the additional capacity to support the growth.” said Helmer, “After considering locations other than Noblesville, we found it beneficial to expand our presence here by relocating to the Saxony Corporate Campus.  This new facility will allow us to further capitalize on the opportunities that are available in the domestic and international markets that we serve.”

“Helmer is exactly the type of user we are trying to attract to Noblesville and the Noblesville Corporate Campus.  They continue to be great corporate citizens and we are excited that they have chosen to grow deeper roots in our community.” said John Ditslear, mayor of the City of Noblesville.

“We are delighted Helmer has selected Saxony Corporate Campus for its new world headquarters.” said Rick Arnos, president of Republic Development Corporation, developer of Saxony. “This further confirms the desirability of Saxony along the I-69 Life Sciences corridor for advanced manufacturing facilities. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Helmer as their business continues to expand worldwide.” Arnos stated.

Saxony is a 725-acre development that spans both sides of I-69 at Exit 10 in Hamilton County, Indiana.  At build-out, this $500 million project will include a mix of corporate office, retail, entertainment, civic, multi-family and single-family uses, all set within a framework that is home to cutting edge companies, such as Helmer, leading retailers and an affluent, highly educated workforce.

Helmer joins a growing roster of commercial users at Saxony that includes the three story, 70,000 square foot world headquarters for the Wesleyan Church Foundation and a 50,000 square foot primary and specialty care medical facility that is the first of a planned 25-acre medical campus for Community Health Network.

The Noblesville Corporate Campus is a 3600 acre master planned development situated between State Road 37 and Interstate 69 in the City of Noblesville.  The area has been pre-zoned for a mix of uses and over 60 million dollars of public investment has been committed to extend roads, utilities, and broadband services to the area.  Ultimately over 20 million square feet of industrial, 6 million square feet of office, and 3 million square feet of service/retail uses are anticipated.
