Construction crews are finishing the exterior walls, which will be covered in brick, on the newest townhome section of the growing Saxony development in Fishers.

Executive Homes is constructing seven buildings with a total of 40 units in an area surrounded by other townhouses and single-family houses west of Olio Road and north of 126th Street.

Models are to be available this summer. Three floor plans will be offered in the development that will have a colonial architectural style.

Executive Homes has been one of the most active builders in the 700-acre Saxony area, which spreads in sections south of I-69's Exit 10 into Fishers and north of the interchange into Noblesville.

Pete Gray, president of Executive Homes and of the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis, said recently that the location is a key to strong home sales in Saxony.

And the range of housing styles and prices, from townhomes to custom houses, is a good balance for creating a neighborhood.

That mix also works well because it allows home buyers to have options when they are ready to move up or down in price or size.

Saxony also will include office and medical buildings along Olio Road.

Republic Development has planned Saxony to be pedestrian-friendly, so residents can easily walk to banking, child day-care centers and other neighborhood services.

Clarian Health Partners, the state's largest health-care group, recently purchased 95 acres in Saxony, including land for development and an existing shopping center. Clarian envisions a future complex of facilities offering medical services.
