Spreading from the geographic center of Hamilton County, Noblesville is a city that is both quaint and hip, that has both a rich historical past on full display and a dynamic future in the modern economy.

With an estimated population near 37,000, up from 28,000 in the 2000 U.S. Census, Noblesville has caught the building boom that has been sweeping through neighboring Fishers, Carmel and Westfield.

Visitors quickly learn that Noblesville has evolved since its founding in 1823 and incorporation in 1851 into a "whole life community." Its a comfortable place, where residents can grow up, pursue jobs and careers and volunteer in civic organizations, find churches of many religious faiths, buy a home, find fun and recreation and cultural opportunities, raise families, receive top notch health care and education and, eventually, retire.

The 1823 founding fathers might not recognize Noblesville today.

A modern county government and judicial center now stands on one side of the Courthouse Square as a compliment to the historical structures that ring the other three sides. A major expansion project will double the size of the City Hall building. Blocks away stands the county-owned Riverview Hospital. Also in the city are several parks that figure into the arts and culture opportunities based on Noblesville's history. Residents enjoy museum and entertainment venues like the Belfry Theater, Verizon Wireless Music Center, the Indiana Transportation Museum where it is possible to catch a train ride and experience life as it used to be.

New construction of homes and businesses is found on nearly every side of the city. But current city leaders are hoping for thousands of new jobs in biotechnology, health care and other industries in the new Corporate Campus under development on hundreds of acres on the eastside.

Once known only as a bedroom community in the Indianapolis metropolitan region, Noblesville is making its move.
