FISHERS, IN  – Saxony is excited to partner with the City of Fishers and GK Sports and Entertainment to bring the new 395,000-square-foot Fishers Sportsplex to the Saxony and Fishers communities. The facility will feature a 115,000-square-foot, 4,200-seat arena, an adjoining 280,000-square-foot field house including meeting rooms and storage, and a 600-space parking garage. Located between 134th and 136th streets and just west of Olio Road, the complex will host collegiate and Olympic-level sports competitions, concerts, trade shows, advanced sports training and community gatherings, to name just a few.

The Fishers Sportsplex is a perfect match for Saxony’s thriving neighborhoods of diverse housing and retail, and convenient sports and entertainment options. It will also complement the Lake District's existing recreational amenities and gathering spaces, creating a sports and entertainment hub the Saxony and broader communities can enjoy.

Construction of the new sportsplex will begin in May and continue through mid-2016. The facility’s construction and management will be privately funded; no out-of-pocket tax dollars are being used to finance the project.

“Saxony is proud to partner with the City of Fishers and GK Sports and Entertainment to bring this next-generation facility to Fishers, creating a sports and entertainment hub the entire community can enjoy. The Fishers Sportsplex will be a perfect complement to the area’s existing recreation and gathering spaces,” said Sean McKinnies, Senior Vice President with Republic Development.

Saxony, utilizing “new urbanism” principles in its design, is a 750-acre development that spans both sides of I-69 and Exit 210 in Hamilton County. At build-out, the $1.5 billion project will include a mix of corporate office, retail, entertainment, civic, multi-family and single family uses, all set within a framework that is home to leading edge companies such as Community Health Network, Helmer Inc., IU Health, Ball State University, STAR Financial Bank, Verus Partners, The Wesleyan Church Foundation, Performance Marketing Group, and leading retailers and an affluent, vibrant workforce.  www.saxony-indiana.com
