Saxony Market Hosts Pirate Day to Celebrate Fishers Renaissance Faire

FISHERS, Ind. – July 23, 2014 –Pirates are taking over Saxony Market! Saturday, August 9, 8 a.m. to noon kids and adults alike are encouraged to get in the spirit by dressing up and talking like pirates. A balloon artist will create pirate swords and accessories and Red Rum, a band of buccaneers, will sing tales about life on the seas. Market goers will also be entertained by antics of pirates as portrayed by cast members of the Fishers Renaissance Faire.

Pirate Day is the perfect addition to Saxony Market, bridging together Health and Play. It provides a place where people can shop local produce, baked goods and artisanal crafts, all while encouraging imagination and fun. “Pirate Day is a unique experience for the entire family. Everyone finds it fun to immerse themselves in the history and pageantry.” Candi McKinnies-Shreve, Marketing Manager of Saxony Management Company.

The Fishers Renaissance Faire takes place the first weekend in October and is a fundraiser for the Sister Cities Association of Fishers, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The money raised goes to pay for a number of activities in the Fishers community, including a student-teacher exchange with Fishers’ Sister City, Billericay, England. A Renaissance Faire favorite, Red Rum is celebrating the release of their first CD, and will have copies available for purchase.

Located at 131st and Olio Road in Fishers, Saxony Market will be occurring now and every Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. through September 13, 2014.
