Town of Fishers

FISHERS, Ind. – The Town of Fishers has been named one of the best places to live in the country. Money Magazine unveiled its annual ranking of Best Places to Live in the United States and rated Fishers the twenty-fourth best place to live. Fishers ranked higher than any town or city in Indiana and is one of only two jurisdictions in the state to crack the magazine’s Top 100.

Money’s list of Best Places to Live weighs several quality of life indicators, including the local economy, education scores, leisure and cultural opportunities, and public safety.

Fishers Town Council President, Scott Faultless, said the high ranking is not really a surprise.
“I think it tells everybody what we already knew in Fishers. It’s a great place to live and raise your business,” he said. “It’s an honor to be recognized with this ranking but that’s not why we work so hard to improve the quality of life. We do it because that is what our residents expect and deserve.”

Because the magazine determines populations by ZIP codes associated with the towns, Fishers population was listed at 48,871. In November 2003, a special census determined the population was 52,390. The Town estimates the current population is approximately 58,344.

Details on the Town of Fishers ranking are available online.
