NOBLESVILLE -- Noblesville Schools have been recognized as among the best in the nation by a business magazine aimed at company executives who want to relocate or expand within the next three years.
Noblesville Schools has been named a Gold Medal school district for ranking in the top 16 percent of 2,800 school districts nationally by Expansion Management. Superintendent Lynn Lehman said the district is proud to be ranked so high.

"It's a fairly comprehensive award that is a reflection of the school corporation and the community it resides in," Lehman said. "It's an award that is an attribute not only to the schools, but to the community in general."
Chris Hamm, Noblesville economic development director, said the magazine is an important way for cities and towns to market themselves to businesses.

"It's one of the nation's leaders in the economic-development industry in regard to reaching the types of folks we are trying to send the message of Noblesville and Noblesville's corporate campus to," Hamm said.
When looking for a place to do business, Hamm said companies look at many factors, including quality-of-life issues such as schools and parks, the overall business environment, location and infrastructure, tax incentives and profitability.

"They (company executives) know they will live in this community and their kids will go to school here from the CEO down to the line workers," Hamm said.
